Culinary Delights

We lovingly serve delicious vegetarian gourmet meals using our own organic garden vegetables and herbs whenever possible. We buy organic grains, dried fruits, seeds, nuts and locally made sourdough breads. We grind our own flour to make scrumptious-tasting baked goodies with cold-pressed oil and free-range eggs. Wheat-free and ‘special’ diets are available upon request.

** If you have special dietary requirements, please inform us upon initial registration. **

The Lodge contains the dining facilities, a lounge/common space for meeting, as well as a library area for quiet relaxation. It has a sauna and other amenities on a large deck that overlooks majestic Kootenay Lake.

The Center’s meeting room holds up to forty people and has a deck that doubles as an outdoor classroom with a breathtaking view.

We also have a meditation sanctuary, cabins, guest tree houses, tipis, tent cabins, a bunk house and a campground.

There is also a 42-foot Stone Labyrinth for meditative walking.

  • Most programs are adult-oriented. The Center does not have playgrounds or child care facilities.
  • At the present time the Retreat Center is not easily wheelchair accessible.
  • Smoking and/or the use of drugs or alcohol are not permitted at the Center.
  • The Retreat Center is a wildlife sanctuary. Please leave your pets at home.
  • There is wireless internet in the Main Lodge. We have a Guest Computer if you wish to check your e-mails.
  • At the present time cell phones do not work at the Center. There is a pay telephone outside the Lodge.

Gas: There is a gas station in Kaslo that is usually open late. There is another gas station/corner store in Cooper Creek, just past the Hwy. 31 turn-off, before you turn towards Johnson’s Landing.

What to Bring: flashlight and extra batteries, hiking footwear, beach towel and bathing suit, notebook/journal, water bottle and slippers or indoor footwear suitable for hardwood floors (outdoor footwear is not worn in side the buildings).

The weather varies a lot here, so bring clothing for all possibilities. Please note that there are no stores or restaurants in Johnson’s Landing.

Extended Seclusion Retreats

We have one cabin which can be used for seclusion retreats of a week or more (including meal delivery). The cost for 7 days is $769.65.

Individual Retreats: We also have facilities to host your own “personal retreat.” Come for a restful stay with delicious meals in a serene setting.
