Sunday, September 2nd 10am -to- 5pm with Patrick Steiner, owner of Stellar Organic Seeds
Saving seeds is an important part of having a truly sustainable garden, as well as being a direct link to the wealth of agricultural biodiversity available to us. The morning will be spent reviewing fundamental principles of seed saving, including how to save seed, harvesting and cleaning methods, seed storage, and where to source seeds.
The afternoon will be an in-field, hands-on experience. We'll spend time in the fields of Stellar Seeds observing seeds at different stages of development, participate in harvesting seeds, and work with simple, low-tech tools to clean those seeds. Participants will take home some of the seeds they save, and will have the knowledge and confidence to grow seeds in their own gardens.
TUITION:
Before August 2nd $50 After August 2nd $60
