Painting with dye on fabric will be explored in this one day workshop. Create unique colour ways, patterns, exciting surface design textures and go home with your unique stash of fabric. This workshop will explore and explain techniques of painting with dye, how to apply dye to fabric and the range of possibilities. The dye can thickened and controlled or allowed to blend together creating textural unique designs. Topics include dye safety, dyeing techniques and fabric suitability. Demonstrations, notes and hands-on. The dye will be provided, bring your cloth - call for details

Susan Lopatecki has expertise in the areas of surface design treatments and exploring creative avenues in textile arts. She has an M.A. from the University of British Columbia and a textile degree from Bradford College in England and Cities and Guilds of London. She is the owner of the Summerland Art Seen Studio & Boutique (SASS) in Summerland, B.C. where she creates original fabrics and fashions.
